Overview
Applied Language Sciences (ALS), published by the Global Digital Applied Linguistics Association (GloDAL), invites submissions for a forthcoming special issue dedicated to the scientific investigation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Language Education. As an international, peer-reviewed, open-access venue, Applied Language Sciences is committed to bridging the gap between applied linguistic theory and real-world impact.
This special issue seeks to move beyond anecdotal reports of AI use and instead focus on rigorous, evidence-based research examining the cognitive, sociolinguistic, and pedagogical dimensions of human-AI interaction in language-learning contexts. Aims and Scope We welcome original research that employs diverse scientific methodologies—including quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods—to explore how AI technologies intersect with language learning. Contributions should address the "scientific innovative practices" central to the journal's mission.
